Gossip Machine uses Wikipedia pageview data to find dates a topic got an unusually high amount of views, which means increased public interest, which usually means something happened. Gossip Machine then turns those dates into Google searches. Choose a preset date range and click the button. You'll get a list of dates and links to date-specific Google searches. The days with the highest view spikes are listed first. Please note that the lower the average pageviews, the more chance there is of wonkiness. 4000 average pageviews will give you decent results. 311 average pageviews probably won't.
